In what context is the Walloon Region fishing permit mandatory?
The Walloon Region fishing permit is mandatory for fishing in all waterways in Wallonia.
To fish in private fisheries, the regional fishing permit is usually not required.
On navigable waterways, only the Walloon Region permit is required.
However, on waterways other than navigable ones (non-navigable), the angler must carry their permit as well as a membership card for a fishing association or, in the absence of such an association, authorization from the riparian owner.
There are two exceptions to this requirement. These are detailed in another section.
